Friday Morning Routine

IMG_7143 copy IMG_7151 copy IMG_7203 IMG_7208 copy IMG_7211 copy IMG_7226IMG_7240 IMG_7241 Untitled-1new1errornew5errornew2error I just love my Fridays more than any other day of the week and even with the good life of the unemployed I still appreciate Friday and try to make it extra special!
First I’ll start my morning with a shower using my favorite products: Flake away scrub and Clean on me shower gel by Soap and Glory . I LOVE those two combinations despite the many many scrubs I’ve tried flake away remains my favorite and I keep on repurchasing it over and over again.
I follow by washing my hair with Bumble & Bumble Thickening shampoo which is the best shampoo I have ever purchased. I cannot describe how good this shampoo is and how much it has helped my hair stay on my scalp rather than on the floor. When I first got it I wasn’t so sure about it, I didn’t like the smell it was too boring for me. But after using it for a while I started noticing a real difference and my hair stopped falling out! So I made my entire family convert to that shampoo. This is my third re-purchase of it! I’ve used different shampoos in between but I keep coming back to this one.

After I’m done I like to light on a candle. My current favorite is Rosamundi by Diptyque & Spray my current favorite perfume Peony and Blush Suede by Jo Malone.

I’ve been using The Righteous Butter by Soap & Glory. I love how it sinks into the skin right away so it speeds up the process of getting ready, it does moisturizer and it’s well scented  but it isn’t my favorite body butter and I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing it again. Another item that I got my hand on from soap & glory is the Heels genius which is just a big disappointment I absolutely hate this product, I hate the scent and I see no results in what it supposed to do. I usually apply any body lotion or butter on my feet and put on socks afterwards and vola after few hours my feet would be as soft as velvet so when I saw this the other day at boots I thought why not give it a try! So far hating it, but I’ll keep on using it cuz I usually don’t like products when I first get them( You probably know that by now).

Finishing up with my skincare products, I usually moisturizer in the morning using Kanebo Sensai Silk Emulsion (Light) and then apply my absolute favorite sunscreen Eau Thermale Avène spf 50+ if I’m going out during daytime this step is an absolute must! I used to think that sunscreen isn’t an important step but I was WRONG, now it’s essential. My makeup application varies depending on where I’m going but two thing I will always apply are Dior Lip glow and Dior Addict Lip Maximizer. And if I need my makeup to stay in place till nighttime I apply Beauty Flash Balm by Clarins which basically works as a primer I read somewhere that it isn’t suitable for daily use so I keep it for special occasions or long days.

Don’t forget to Read Alkhaf before you head out. I like to listen to my favorite reader while getting ready Click Here.

Have a blessed Friday  xx

Night Skincare Routine

IMG_4230I’ve been asked to share my skincare routine a couple of times but I did not want to post about it until I was 100% sure that those products are worthy of mentioning.

Untitled-3

Before I start telling you about the products I use, I want you to keep in mind that those products might work well for me but not for you. Each one of us has a different skin type and each skin has different needs. When my obsession began with youtube beauty videos my skin was in a pretty good condition until I decided to believe in the products that were mentioned by beauty gurus. Which was the biggest mistake I’ve ever done. You have to keep in mind that youtubers, bloggers, etc.. make money out of advertising certain products so even if those products weren’t as good they will still be recommended by them to you!

By believing in their recommendations, my skin started acting up and started to get really irritated, I broke out A-LOT. It took me a while to realize that you don’t need ton of products to keep your skin healthy and beautiful. Magazines, celebs, bloggers, youtubers, etc.. will tell you that you need bizlion and trillion of products because this is how they make a living! BUT you really really don’t! All you need is a decent cleanser and everything else is just a treat. Click Here to see the products that have ruined my skin.

My skin type: Oily to Combination

1 MAINMy night skincare Routine:
1- Kanebo Sensai Silky Purifying Gentle Makeup Remover for Eyes and Lips
2- Kanebo Sensai Silky Purifying Cleansing Milk
3 – Kanebo Sensai Silky Purifying mud Soap *
4 – Estee Lauder Adanced Night Repair *
5 – Kanebo Sensai Silk Emulsion (Light)
6 – Dr Sebagh’s For Your Eyes Only Puffy Eye Cream
7- Dr Jackson’s 04 Coconut Melt
8 – Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish

Items marked with * are essential to me and are the reason my skin got better. Evey thing else isn’t as important.

Step 1:

IMG_4225 copy

If I have makeup on I start by removing my eye makeup using Kanebo Sensai Silky Purifying Gentle Makeup Remover for Eyes and Lips. It does the job perfectly but it’s just as good as the L’oreal remover for waterproof eye makeup (You have to make sure it’s the waterproof, the regular one burns the eyes and does not do the job). Unfortunately since they’ve changed the packaging I can no longer find it in Qatar. So I converted to Kanebo.

Then I will start removing the rest of my makeup by using Kanebo Sensai Silky Purifying Cleansing Milk which is a lovely product that doesn’t break me out or harm my skin in anyway. But it does not remove the makeup quite well so I have to follow with Kanebo Sensai Silky Purifying mud Soap which is just the best product in the whole wide world. Whenever I’m using this product my skin will be in a good condition. I believe it helps with preventing breakouts and it does a fantastic job of keeping the oil in my face balanced without drying my skin.

I only do this once a day at night. Cleansing my face twice with the mud soap would be too much for my skin and if I don’t have makeup on I would skip using it as well.

Step 2:

IMG_4250 copyAnother fantastic product is Estee Lauder Adanced Night Repair this is the only product that I came across that was REALLY worth every good review and the hype. After I cleanse my face I apply few drops of it and in the morning my skin would be brighter, smoother, hydrated and more radiant. This product really excels with its results. I only apply it once a week and if my skin was tired I fulfill its thirst by using it 3 times a week but that’s a maximum amount of use per week.

I’ve been recently given a sample of Kanebo Sensai Silk Emulsion (Light) which is basically a light moisturizer for oily to combination skin that hydrates without being overly thick. I’ve used it for two weeks now and so far so good it is the kind of moisturizer I’ve always wanted to have. I use it in the morning more then I do at night however when I feel that my skin is overly dried because of the cold weather I apply it after the Advanced Night Repair serum. I believe in less is more so I use a very small amount of the product.

By now you could really see that I hate applying too many products on my skin on daily basis and I believe the reason my skin has been  good to me is because I was good to it, by not adding too many chemicals on my face that would just irritate it. However when it is thirsty for moisture, applying a serum or a moisturizer is a must!

Step 3:

IMG_4260 copyI sometimes get puffy eyes in the morning and in order to prevent that I apply Dr Sebagh’s For Your Eyes Only Puffy Eye Cream before I go to bed. I do this step very very rarely(Maybe once a month if I’m really cynical about having puffy eyes) because I believe the undereye area is super sensitive and you shouldn’t over use products on this area! Even the touch of your finger is too much and could cause darkness! ( I know a lot of people might disagree but I’ve noticed that the people who suffer from undereye darkness are the ones who use tons of products underneath their eyes to prevent what their fingertips is causing)

I ordered Dr Jackson’s 04 Coconut Melt because I was in need for a moisturizer but when I opened up the package it wasn’t what I expected it to be! I don’t really know how someone can use it as a face moisturizer so I just ended up using it as a lip balm and it does the job pretty well! But I’d pick Crème de Rose over it with a blink of an eye! If I ever get my hands on it before it gets sold out!

Exfoliation:

IMG_4270Lastly, I’d like to talk to you about exfoliation. I only exfoliate when I feel that my skin needs it, that is when I get dry patches or dead skin cells that dis-smooth my foundation when I apply it. Therefore exfoliation is the soulation to get rid of any of those unwanted problems to result with an even and toned skin that is prepped for makeup. I’ve been using Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish recently and once again with exfoliaters, I don’t know how I feel about it. I’ve used different exfoliaters before such as Origins modern friction and Liz Earl gentle face exfoliater. Out of the three I think Liz Earl’s is the least harsh and most gentle. It does get fast results so I like to use it when I have a special occasion and I want to look radiant right away. However it can only help in the short run, the next day I’d wake up and all the problems I’ve had would have returned as well, with the other two exfoliaters my skin would last weeks without any dead cells, etc..

I exfoliate when my skin needs it, so this could either be once a week or once every two weeks. Exfoliation could be really harsh on the skin and I don’t know how some people do it on daily basis! And be careful not to exfoliate where you have a breakout or a pimple this could lead the breakout to spread all over your face.

Most of the days I would only cleanse my face and go straight to bed. This step is definitely a must & Stay tuned for my Morning Skincare Routine xo.

& Other Stories Haul

photo 2-1 copyI still have so much to tell you about my summer vacation and what you shouldn’t miss if you plan your euro-trip but I seriously couldn’t wait to rave and tell you all about my new find (probably not so new to so many people).

Paris has been our sixth and last stop and you certainly know what Paris is mostly famous for: The shopping, lots of it. On one of the golden days, as we were walking under the sunlight and as we passed by the historical Place Vendome I was stunned by the beauty of fashion that revolved in one circle, we finally reached rue Saint-Honoré and there it was “& other stories” which is an amazing shopping store, it easily entered my list of top places to shop at. Lucky for me they also have a store in London, I’m definitely going to be a regular.

This is what I have bought:

-Angora-blend sweater
Metal Choker Necklace (I forgot to take a picture of it)
-Panel leggings
-Punk Bouquet body wash
-Punk Bouquet body scrub: I have already tried this product and I have fallen harshly in love with it. Sometimes scrubs could be a bit hard on my skin, not this one, incredibly soft( the softest scrub I have ever used) yet gets rid of any dry patches, leaving my skin polished with a silken texture and a luscious scent.
-Punk Bouquet body Soufflé: I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said I want to marry this product. It has every quality that I look for in a body lotion: Scent lasts for the entire day and the next day!, sinks into my skin as soon as I apply it which does not make me feel like a sticky creature that needs to be dried before touching anything & just smells absolutely heavenly.
-Equatorial Dreams body scrub
-Linsay Salmon nailpolish: Highly pigmented, long lasting and dries up so fast which is something that I REALLY appreciate.
-Say Pink nailpolish
*(There are things that you could see in the photo but I did not mention them because they were picked up by my sister and not me)

photoBefore I start with my makeup, I have to fix some issues with my skin, if it’s one of those days where its unbelievably dehydrated, I would use Liz Earle moisturizer. The second thing I would do is apply Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye cream which is the perfect base for concealer. I have this issue where I feel that every time I apply concealer my under eye area gets darker and darker, and concealer is not something I’m willing to let go of, so I got this product for the purpose of using it as concealer base. However, there is an issue with this product if you start applying your concealer immediately after you applied it, your makeup is going to look greasy and flaky and all kind of things that you don’t want to see, you HAVE to wait at least 15 minutes before starting up with your makeup same goes with moisturizer.

fMoving on to the next step, I start by using MAC prep+prime to help increase the lifetime of my makeup. Now with all the fun not colorless stuff, first I would apply concealer on any blemishes or scars and also under my eyes, I recently purchased Chanel correction perfection concealer, I really like it however I still do believe nothing can top up my previous Cargo concealer that I’ve previously mentioned I’m really upset we no longer have it at Sephore, I don’t understand why every time I get hooked on something they shut it down, it seems that I jinx products *sorry producers* .. anyway I fell off subject there, for the perfect foundation I like to mix MAC studio Fix nc25 with Chanel Mat Lumiere 20 on my heart paw palette using MAC 190 brush . If you’re a mac user you would know that sometimes their foundation could get a bit to yellowyy and this is why I love mixing it with a lighter foundation to get the perfect coverage. After I’m done with the foundation I would blend some more using MAC 130SE brush. then to brighten up my eyes I apply a teeny bit of YSL radiant touch in the corner of my eyes. Because I used fake tan on my body my face need to be tanned as well, A spray of Soap & Glory Glow Getter

photo 5Afterwards, I use collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer under the peek of my eyebrows. then fill my eyebrows with Bobbi brown eyeshadow in the color Rich brown 11 using Bobbi Brown eyebrow brush. For the eyes, I used urban decay eyeshadow primer potion. The Eye shadows I used were by MAC Nylon and Tempting applied each using Bobbi brown Eyeshadow brush then blended them using MAC 217 brush. Then used my ultimate favorite eyeliner Penultimate eyeliner in Rapidblack & finally applied my new favorite mascara Limited edition MAC Opulash Optimum Black mascara.

What’s in My Package

IMG_1385Amidst the flurry of midterm week I thought I’d cheer myself up by adding Asian products to my beauty arsenal. I’ve placed an order on Yesstyle which is an Asian E-shop that offers beauty products among other things. I was in doubt at first when I found the website through google, after losing lots of my packages through mail I currently suffer from *Internet Shopping phobia* But I’m so glad I gave yesstyle a chance their delivery was incredibly fast and accurate which to me matter the most, when I wait for a package for too long I just lose all effervescence for it..

IMG_1411 The first Asian product that I wanted to get my hands on was “My Beauty Diary” sheet masks. I got White Truffle Fantastic Whitening Mask & 2-Step Africa Hydrating Pack.

IMG_1436and as I was cramming on the web I found more interesting things that I wanted to add to my basket but fear of package lose kept my hands tight so I only included

Skinfood Cucumber & Lettuce Hydro-gel Eye Mask Sheet : My under eye area goes insane during exams weeks because of the late nights I spend scrolling through my business books, so I thought it would be the perfect time for me to get those eye mask sheets.
– Kiss Me Kiss Lip Softsense (Peach):I added this lip balm to my basket because it looked Japanese and cute, which was a good enough reason for me. This was the first product to fall in my hands and went immediately on my lips, it’s VERY hydrating. I already have a feeling it will be floating around from handbag to handbag to soothe & hydrate.. I loved that it does not contain a delicious or any kind of scent to it, because I usually tend to eat my lip balms when they smell like yummy candy.

IMG_1413before wrapping this post I wanted to share with you another gift from technology that will make your life easier as it has made mine. I usually like multiple products on the internet from different sites, and most of the time when I’m in the mood to start shopping online and I’m ready to abuse my credit card, I forget most of the items that were on my wishlist, so I just end up surfing through N-A-P because let’s face it there’s always something I want from Net-a-porter. But I’m just too used to getting a black NAP box and I would like to receive something new. -Technology to the rescue- Now I finally don’t have to face this problem where I could simply add wantsworthy “I want” toolbar onto my bookmark and vola all items from different websites can be easily found in one place which is (http://www.wantworthy.com). You can see everything on my wishlist here & all the items I’ve purchased and will be purchasing here.

So go ahead and fill your wishlists xo
